I saw 2 clients fail at 11:44: Both near Glasgow.
01560 and 01389 area codes, different ISPs.

One can't help but wonder what's going on. Rock solid broadband for several
years and then two major outages in a week. Cyber attack?

Would they tell us it was the results of a cyber attack?

You have better access than I do :-) You bloody well SHOULD of course. :-)

Sounds a bit like BP and their bijou oil well drama-ette. 'A mere drop
in the ocean' ;-)

I don't suppose there is any chance of BT waking up to the fact that
broadband is all about intensely boring properly engineered wire in
cabinets, kit in racks, and proper quality control, rather than a sad
sick soap about a middle aged divorcee shagging a bloke ten years younger..?

"Adam: I lost the fucking baby. I went into labour and neither the phone
nor the fucking broadband worked, and I'd left me mobile off charge
after all those ads about calls being more human from a fixed line
telephone"

;-)

Meanwhile, at the uk.telecom.broadband Job Justification Hearings, Graham J
chose the tried and tested strategy of:

25 off around then, and they started coming back on between 90 and 120
minutes later. I assumed they would all suddenly come on at once but no.
Interestingly, one customer's very expensive IPclear was off as well, yet
none of the BTnet Premium lines I monitor were affected.

I am afraid those who said 'penny pinching bean counters and slack and
incompetent management ' are nearer the truth.

I'll lay odds it was an 'upgrade' that went pear shaped.

Had a call once from one of our customers - taking Internet over ISDN -
remember that? -via an *extension* on their ISDN PABX.

"Its all gone down, ever since the PABX firmware was upgraded..." "and
how is that OUR problem?" :-)

FWIW, according to my router log I lost my IDNet (via BT) FTTC
connection between 00:10 and 00:50hrs this morning. I'm in Hampshire. I
don't mind, I was fast asleep, but I'm beginning to miss the 100% rock
solid NewNet LLU connection I had until a month ago (although not the
5.5 km 63dB attn crappy line).
