Broadband Quality

Hi folks,
I'm currently using Demon's ADSL Broadband service. My use is
primarily to publish services such as http, nntp. I also run an MTA
that is fairly heavily used.

Although the service availability seems to be quite high, there are
constant timeouts and reconnects from people attempting to access my
services. This makes my services look unprofessional when the
problem really lies beyond my control.

I'm sure there must be other people experiencing similar problems
with their ADSL connectivity and I'm wondering if they can provide
any insight into whether the problem is generic (Fundamental issue
with BT ADSL) or ISP specific (Demon Internet issue).

If it's ISP specific, I'd appreciate some suggestions on an alternate
ISP that is reasonably friendly towards those wishing to deliver
services.

Thanks

http://www.aaisp.net.uk

If you ask in alt.internet.providers.uk.aaisp you will probably find lots of
people who run the sort of services you do and can probably confirm its ISP
specific.

I run servers (web, ftp and mail) on the end of my Nildram ADSL service and
have never had any problems.

I do use grantiecanyon.com for my DNS though, and it's proving to be VERY
unreliable at the moment.

Martin.
