Broadband on non BT line

Hi,

A friend of mine has her phone line supplied by Homecall. After a bit
of looking about on the web, I'd rather she didn't sign up for
Homecall's own offering as there are a number of very bad reports
about it.

Are there any ISPs out there that will supply ADSL on a non BT line?

Hi. I'm with Homecall, and use madasafish.com for my broadband.
However, the madasafish account was set up prior to moving from BT to
homecall. As far as I'm concerned, the phoneline hasn't changed at
all, and is still supplied by BT, it's just that I pay homecall, who
then pay BT the line rental.

I would have thought it would be possible to sign up with any
"standard" ADSL supplier. Is she finding this not to be the case?

If the line is a BT provided copper then any ISP should be able to
provide service - try using a checker and seeing what response you get
