Broadband modem!

Thought I would copy this message into here to see if anybody could
offer any advice

Hi a friend of mine has got a broadband modem, but when he connects to
the internet, it only lasts a few seconds then he gets cut off with
this message:
C:\windows\minidump\mini011204.02.dmp
c:\docume~1\malky\locals~1\temp\wer2.tmp\sysdata.x ml
error797
He is running windows xp

Nothing helped so far he has updated everything he can and checked out the
page you suggested, connected with broadband modem and the same thing
happened.
He says he has read about deleting the minidump folder but was not sure if
windows would remake that folder when he rebooted, or does he need it?
