Try calling 152 on your BT line. Tell them that there is marker on your
line which you would like removed. It worked for me.

Note that they expect only to talk to ISP employees & not members of the
public. If, once you get through the menu system, (choosing <cough>
appropriately), you quickly demonstrate a degree of clue they can
achieve what seems to be beyond others.

Pity one need to have to resort to these methods to get a canceled
adsl connection taken off ones line .

If you buy a property, can you assume that your solicitor (handling the
conveyance) will deal with getting the previous owner to remove any tag on
the line?

The point is I would have expected BT to " clean" a disused line or at
least make it simple for a customer to request removal of whatever a
previous customer had installed on the line . I must have spoken with
at least four different departments of BT about this and one would
have thought they would have jumped at the chance of making another
twenty eight quid out of me . Maybe I was unlucky and spoke with all
the wrong people the other afternoon when I was on the phone to BT for
a good two hours trying to sort this out.
