I have a broadband siffy internet connection. I'd like to setup the
internet connection on linux 8. Do we have "internet connection for
linux HOWTO's"?

There's several. It depends on what kind of broadband connection you
have. My ISP (Cox) uses vanilla DHCP and Ethernet, so I just have to
set up eth0 as "get address via DHCP" and I'm good to go. Some broadband
ISPs use PPP-over-Ethernet, which requires some setup described in the
PPPoE HOWTO. DSL vs. cable-internet makes a big difference too.
