Hi everyone.
Still currently on ntl dialup...
Finally decided to go for a broadband package.

Have a desktop pc that would be connected to bband, but would also like
laptop we have downstairs connected too.

How would we go about arranging this?!

Also , has anyone got any bband recommendations... would rather NOT go
for NTL.. would also rather not have a 12 month contract, but would
suffer it if required.

Looking at up to £20 a month.

thanks

Charlie

You need to end up with a router plugged into a phone socket, and
probably using wireless to get downstairs to the laptop.
This means that any 'free' modem deal is even more useless to you than
normally, as you will buy the right kit for the job.
Assuming you were OK with what you are getting over dial-up you propably
aren't really into downloading lots. That means that many 'capped' 1GB
to 5GB per month services should be fine for your likely use.
These should be £15 - £18 a month or ~£20 a month if you wish to avoid a
setup fee.
Setup fees also tend to go up if you want a shorter contract term.

Plus, f2s worth a look, also the Metronet charge structure may appeal to
you.
Usual avoids of NTL (=Tesco), AOL and Tiscali.
