Broadband, DACS line and Daisy Plc

HI,

I'm trying to connect a line up to B/Band however the line is shared
with a DACS unit, as an added complication the line is provided by
Daisy plc (i.e. rental and calls are paid to Daisy). Other than
that the line is a standard BT line within B/Band range.

My question is who is responsible for removing the DACS, BT have said
that they are not responsible, Various ISPs have stated they will not
do it and Daisy will do remove it provided that they get the B/Band
contract.
The only problem with the last option is that they do not offer a good
package!

Any suggestions?

Rich

Only BT can remove it if the line is provided over the BT copper network.

All you have to do is order Broadband from your chosen SP (service provider)
who will submit a order to BT Wholesale who will spot the DACS and arrange
for an engineer to visit and remove the DACS and provide the line over it's
own copper pair. Broadband will then be able to be provided over the same
new copper pair. Well that's how it should work !

But it won't work! Most ISPs will only supply broadband on a line provided
by BT.

But if the line is provided using the BT network, copper, eachange etc...
then this shouldn't be a problem as Daisy is only "Calls & Access"
provider. Very much the same as CPS but with the line rental also going to
the SP aka Daisy.

what does the line checker at www.bt.com/broadband say ? this connects
to the same systems as ISPs placing orders.

Tiscali - dialup speeds at Broadband prices.
AOL - the unlimited ISP of choice for heavy downloaders.

I should have said directly charged by BT. Try the BT lkine checker to
check.
