Broadband in Crawley / Tollgate Hill area??

Hi All,


Anyone know if the Tollgate Hill area in Crawley, Sussex can get Broadband,
I called up and they were unsure if the exchange was too far away to supply
it.

Just wondering if we have any Crawley readers here who could comment or
engineers in the know?

Marcus,

I am in Broadfield, Fulham Close and get Broadband OK, but Tollgate Hill was
built later so it may well be that your line length is greater if they ran
the cables on from around here - I seem to remember that ours only just
passed the test.

Hollingbourne Cres estate is right on the limits. Some can get RADSL, some
can't.

With the recent extension of the distance limit from 5.5 km to 6 km BT
sent messages to people living in part of Horsham Road Pease Pottage
saying they can now have Broadband so I would imagine the whole of
Broadfield is now included. Unfortunately it appears to extend just to
the next telegraph pole down the road from me and according to BT
there is nothing I can do apart from wait (and no, PP does not have
Telewest cable).

I would have thought that Pease Pottage might fall within the
Handcross exchange. Which is due to go ADSL next week!

Thats a thought, could that mean then that supposing if the Handcross one
was nearer you could change?

Does anyone know the locations of these exchanged, Address wise! ?

I have a feeling that the Handcross exchange is at the Pease Pottage
end of the village. Near the Fountain. But I may be wrong. If it is
anything to go by, the only phone box on the map is on the Horsham
Road.
