leased lines are likely to be more costly than the satellite kit,
unless you were after portable satellite kit, perhaps. Costs are
too variable to cover, and a leased line will probably be supplied
on kilostream or Megastream, depending on your speed requirements.
Megastream is offered in speeds of 2 Mbit/s up (34, 45, 140, 155)
from BT, with monthly costs from 500 to 25000 pounds. Setup is
another expense, and overall the costs for leased lines will be
dependent on distance, so "how long is a piece of string" :-)

Some years ago I was quoted over 5,000 pounds for a 64k leased
line, some of the costs are fixed, and others use distance and
increase as a result. Also remember that there's a difference
in getting a leased line from office 1 to office 2, compared
with getting a leased line from an ISP (the ISP will add to
internet capacity or increase contention on existing internet
links... to add capacity will cost them money although it's
quite likely they will add capacity and then launch marketing
to add a number of customers at the same time, so they don't
have excess capacity sitting idle, IYSWIM). Peter M.
