Broadband and Dialup

I have a broadband connection but also have a dialup connection for
the odd occasion when the broadband has stopped working and also to
occasionaly access a dialup account with the same ISP. Everything is
fine unless i happen to type an invalid URL, when it then attempts to
use the dialup connection.

Anyone have any ideas of how to prevent this without deleting the
dialup connection.

regards, Big H

Set Internet options - Connections to 'never dial a connection'

If your broadband is ADSL, and need to connect with DUN, drag a shortcut to
the relevant entry in DUN to the desktop or taskbar. You can do the same for
your dialup entry.

Also if you are using XP disable the modem when not required.

Why? so that rouge diallers can use it without you knowing or giving access.

Just a precaution.

Better still, unplug the modem - then diallers of any colour won't be able
to use it! <g>
