I just bought a new PC and want to bring it up as the base
(hard wired) PC on my network but don'w want to mess up
the 2 wireless devices already on the network (Notebook
via PCMCIA card and another PC via USB wireless adaptor).
Is there anything I need to be careful about or can I just
load the broadband software on the new PC?

You don't need to load any software, Ray. Guessing you're on Windows XP,
just go into Network Connections on the new machine and "Create a new
connection."

Yes, new PC is Windows XP Media Center Edition.

Thanks,

Should be a relative snap, Ray. Just make sure your new machine (congrats
on the MCE!) is part of the same workgroup you've named on the LAN.
Everything else should be picked up automatically.
