I have a small home network, 2 desktops running W98SE and
a laptop with XPhome. I want to use Briefcase to
synchronise Outlook files (not e-mail, just calender,
contacts, task list). However, briefcase isn't installed
on the W98 machines, isn't an option in Add/remove Windows
components and can't find it on the CD. Any suggestions
please?

To create a New Briefcase folder

Click Start, point to Programs, and click Windows Explorer.
Double-click the folder in which you want to create the New Briefcase
folder.
On the File menu, point to New, and then click Briefcase.
