I've got a Netgear WGR614 as my "main" router plugged into our cable
line. I also have an old Belkin F5D7230-4. I want to make the Belkin
connect to the Netgear from another part of the house so I can plug a
non-wireless computer into it to get on the net.

My question is, is it possible to do this at all?

Thanks for your time.

Nope. Wireless routers and access points are made to talk to client
radios, not each other. If both routers had the WDS (wireless
distribution system) protocol support, they would be able to talk to
each other.

However, if you want to run a CAT5 cable between the two routers,
using one as a wireless router, but the other as just a wireless
access point, that will work.
