I have just posted below but have had time to rethink this......The question is can I run Ethernet cable from 10/100 cable in PC ME to card #1 in PC XP and from Card#2 in PC Xp to The Broadband modem....This sound simple but will it work......Any Help is most welcome before I commit to buying the stuff I need

Yes, but if you're buying all this hardware it might be cheaper to just buy
a router instead. If you insist, check out "Internet Connection Sharing" in
Windows XP help.

use a router off of the modem.
there is a chance that running both connections to a modem will not allow
you to set up a home network.
