bridge-utils and multicast

Can someone explain if, and if so how, bridge utils can bridge two
interfaces to transfer multicast packets to 224.0.0.251 addresses? Normally
these would be "local" but my specific scenario is on a wired/wireless
bridge (actually a Netgear hub using this under the covers).

I've read a litttle about bridge-utils but not spotted anything that would
configure, or block, multicast packets.

Thanks,
Paul DS
