Braking RDP connection

I have a problem with one of the links I use. The RDP connection to
the server brakes quite often.
Sometimes I won't even get to the logon screen but in average
statistically I expect it to brake once every 5mins. I noticed it
happens on packet loss as I was pinging -t the server while connected
and I was getting disconnected every time when there was one packet
lost. The ping continued receiving replays but from every now and then
there were single lost packets in the log. That's where my connection
was braking. I checked the router (Drytek Vigor) but couldn't find any
proof of connection loss. How do I find the reason of those drops?

Are you connecting over a VPN?

No VPN. Actually when I do connect through VPN first then the
connection seems to be more stable but
still it disconnects me once every 10-15 minutes. VPN then reconnects
after a while but I have to start
remote desktop back again.

So you are connecting to a remote server and every so often your connection
drops - whether RDP, ping or a VPN?
What is at the other end? I assume there is a firewall in front of the
server.

Indeed, anything drops.
The only firewall is the one on the Drytek router. There is no ISA
running on the
server nor any other firewall. The connection is used only as a
secondary link
to the server in case the SDSL fails and for the server management.
The only thing that looks unusual is when I look at in to the ADSL
Spectrum
Analysis there is a single drop to 0 level in one place in Download.
Otherwise SNR margin and loop attenuation looks OK.

Yaro,
If the whole connection drops, regardless of connection type - RDP, ping,
VPN I would look at your client rather than networking. RDP will not drop
from a single dropped packet, and will attempt to reconnect.

There is no other traffic on that connection except for my RDP
session.
The main Internet connection is SDSL. I'm connecting through backup
ADSL
connection. VPN reconnects indeed but RDP doesn't although it's trying
but always fails.
Sorry for the duplicate.

The ADSL is a separate connection. It's used only by admins to connect
to the remote server.
I have a Drytek Vigor router set up with a username and a password for
VPN connections. When I get authenticated it passes me to the server
where I have to log in again using different credentials. The settings
for the VPN connection are set to typical. I mentioned the VPN as it
seems to be more stable when I VPN first and then connect to the
server rather than RDP straight to the server which brakes much more
often and doesn't reconnect. Well when I VPN first the VPN reconnects
itself but RDP doesn't although it tries.
