Hi
My Boss is monitoring all the computers in the company. All the
computers are in subnet and connected to a router. My boss possibly
use some program to monitor the traffic of the router.
Yesterday, i was downloading SUSE, my boss email me there is a hugh
ftp traffic
of my computer. How can hide from him?
Is that able to change the packet so my boss doesn't know i am ftp
something?

thanks
from Peter ((E-Mail Removed))

Either get another job, where your current boss will have no idea where you are, or else do the work you were hired to do and
download the stuff you want at home.

If it isn't related to your job, do it at home.

All you have to do, is show him that it's work related. He won't mind then.

Dear Peter,

Much in the same way that you should not being doing certain things, I do
think you should look into installing a copy of Ethereal
(http://www.ethereal.org/) and then sniff their traffic. Typical pointy
haired bosses probably have nothing better to do than look at whatever others
are doing (and that thing called 'manage', whatever that truely is) and plan
where to take 'clients' with their families to which restaurants.

<moment_of_clarity>
this is not alt.sysadmin.recovery is it?
</moment_of_clarity>

As others have said, do not download stuff you should not be downloading at
work, unless you know how to hide things, *cough* ssh tunnels *cough* port
443 *cough*

Regards

Alex
