booting computer

When I start up my computer, I get a message box that
reads "Enter your network password for Microsoft
networking". There is a user name that reads "default"
and a box to enter a password.
The problem is that I am not on a network. I click the
cancel button and then my computer continues to boot up.
This happens whether I have shut down properly or not.
How can I make this box go away?
