boosting 802.11b

Using a LinkSys BEFW11S4 for my home LAN.

Investigating options for improving signal
strength quality. I'm watching the discontinued
LinkSys 802.11b boosters on Ebay - they're no longer
available, so they're going for around $200 or so
on auctions.

I've also been reading about the directional antenna's
that can be purchased for anywhere from $9 to $40.
Considering that as well.

Any experiences with either, or other options available?

You should try a free reflector.

What do the numbers mean? Is smaller better/bigger better? What does
minus indicate...is a larger minus figure better?
