Bonding module gives error when loading with parameters

Hi,

I am trying to load the Bonding module and if I do not pass any
parameters to it it works fine.

But if I issue the command with any parameter I get this error:

[root@hpdns root]# modprobe bonding miimon=100 mode=1

bonding failed


No matter what parameters I pass to the module, I always get this
error.

Has anybody experienced something similar?

BTW: I am using the Linux kernel 2.4.9-e.24

I had faced a similar problem after upgrading 2.4.9e.40enterprise
kernel on my RHAS 2.1 box.
I reinstalled the Proliant support Pack for Linux 7.11 ( Downloaded
from HP site) and everything started working again.

I think it is something to do with Default RH Bonding driver and the HP
Bonding Driver
