I've got a two computer network wired with a linksys BEFSX41 router.
One box has an old PCI 3com NIC, the other has a on board gigabit lan
(realtek chip).

I've noticed when I shut the two computers off, the 3com dies and
kills it's lights on the linksys. The realtek gigabit Nic initially
turns off it's linksys lights, and then they blink for about 15sec and
come back on.

Any insight to what the linksys and realtek chip are doing re-syncing
and lighting back up ?
