Blueyonder has nothing to do with the telephone line, it's broadband cable.

Thanks, I have a bt phone line but am thinking of changing the whole thing
to telewest phone package and their BY broadband.

I have had cable tv a few years back but it always seemed to go down when
the bad weather was about and so i am a bit worried that their broadband
service is just as tempermental.

i will check out the link, thanks.

Why would you want to pay more for an inferior service provided by a company
staffed by morons?

Unless you use enough to justify one of Telewest's "Unlimited" phone
packages I would not touch their phone service. They charge Peak rate all
day (midnight to midnight) on a Bank Holiday, why I do not know, except
playing on peoples ignorance.

They charge 6p for the mere act of connecting a call with a time charge on
top. A 10 min evening local call to a non-telewest line can cost 26p against
BT of 10p.

Just out of interest, can you tell me where in the price list it states this
information?

It is actually £8.99 cheaper per month for the exact same package i already
have with BT. - i.e

24/7 free calls (TW have no cut off time whereas BT u have to redial after
an hour)
512 broadband
Calling features package of 4

The reason I was thinking of changing to TW is that my phone line wont take
1mb adsl (barely scraped thru the 512) but there would be no problem with
BY as it comes down a cable.

Daisy, as you are interested in the call features packs can I ask which part
of the country you live in? One of the packs has Caller Display which you
may currently be using with BT? Some of the older BT Caller Display
equipment will not work on TW's switches - excluding TW Midlands and TW
North West. Just a warning, you may need to get a compatible phone / unit if
you are not in either of these two franchise areas.

by are good value. Do not listen to Mr Hurley's moans about them. He was
perfectly happy until they pulled his account for abuse.

I suggest you check their price list, standard daytime charges apply on bank
holidays 6am - 6pm, i.e. 3p per minute + 6p connection.
