I am trying to help a friend who has blueyonder broadband on his system but
he can't; get his email to work.
When I visited him I found that he didn't have a clue what his account name
was or his user name as an "expert" had put broadband on his system and he
had no record of the settings he used.
He quoted me several passwords he had used but wasn't sure which was the
final one.
I tried my best to solve this situation without success
When I came home I opened the blueyonder web site and looked for help.
Technical phone help was £1 per minute
I found their site a nightmare to navigate and get some help
How can I proceed- I need some guidance

First of all, his main email address will be in the form of his account
number (usually something like ab123c4567), therefore his email address will
be (E-Mail Removed). You can use this to log into the selfcare
page at http://selfcare.blueyonder.co.uk to create email aliases/mailboxes
(proper email addresses that point to the account number).
Usually, the password is sent with a letter when you first subscribe to
blueyonder. If he has changed the password since then, you can use the same
selfcare page to reset the password (there's a "Forgotton Password?" link on
the page that he can follow).

The £1 per min tech support you are looking at is for things outside of
Blueyonder. For all things Blueyonder it's the price of a local telephone
call.

First off: Have your friend call customer services (0845 142 0000) for his
user name, and password reset.

Blueyonder Technical Support: 0845 142 4422

Btw, who was the "expert" ?

Contact numbers:

Or even "150" at no cost ( if he has a TW phone)

Thank you for your help .
My friend tends to use different people to help him and in the past he has
had some bad experiences.
His main use for his PC is accounts running a small business and he really
is an expert with spreadsheets, but he has no time to investigate all the
other parts of his PC.
Now that he is retired he has time to look at email etc so asking him for
information gets nowhere because he has no idea what his" experts "did!
I now hope to introduce him to the world of email etc

When he sorts it, tell him to keep a little black book with all the
important settings :-}

I have one with all the ISPs i`ve used since about 1995, some of whose
email accounts I still check for mail !

I have given him the lecture and have also asked him to buy a CD storage
unit to collect all his CDs for his PC. I'm afraid he has a long way to go!
