After installing SP1 I noticed that Windows Server 2003 does still not
support bluetooth. I googled around a while and found some comments on
this from Microsoft: "...because of security reasons..." "...it is a
server not a client..." etc.
Bluetooth has grown up to a widely-used wireless interface. There are
DSL modems, printers, mice, keyboards, etc. which are all based on the
bluetooth technology. Microsoft can not leave it out anymore!
Instead of leaving out bluetooth I would suggest removing the wireless
network support - "because of security reasons" or maybe the Internet
Explorer could be removed since "it is a server not a client"...
Some people - like me - do not use the Windows Server OS as a server,
but need to change to the server OS because WinXP does not provide all
the features that the server OS does (software RAID, multiple
connections via RDP). I want to decide if bluetooth could be a
security problem for my computer - Microsoft can not and must not
decide it.
However, since I do not have any alternatives I have to accecpt the
drawbacks.
Does anyone know if there is a way to integrate the WinXP SP2
bluetooth stack into the server OS? 8)
