Is there a way blocking a pc from DHPC server?

My branch office shares a couple of network devices with another company, so
they are in the same network.

I asked the other company to assign static IP addresses on their computers,
but whenever they get a new computer or visitors, those computers get IP
addresses from my server.

And I would like to block those computer using MAC or whatever.

Your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Cheongseo,

Vendor classes:
http://technet2.microsoft.com/window....mspx?mfr=true

Or use manageble switches for port configuration wit MAC addresses.

In addition to Meinolf's reply -

To address your specific question, no, this isn't really feasible in your
situation, outside of setting up DHCP reservations & not leaving any free
addresses in the pool w/o reservations.

If you manage to do this it still won't provide you with a jot of security.
You're exposing your network to lord knows what, especially if this other
company has guests with their own computers!

If you want any security at all, I think you need to separate these
networks, either with a router or a switch with VLANs. You haven't explained
what these networked devices are, but if they're multifunction scanners,
there's always scan-to-email, which doesn't require any connectivity. Each
company can buy its own networked printers. It's cheaper than paying for the
cleanup required after something goes badly wrong.
