Hello, i have a win 2003 R2 server running TS app mode, i recently add a
secondary IP address to the server (Public IP) and since then the "network
connections" page is blank, i'm trying to remove the added IP address as it
make the server very slow. How can I access the properties of the network
connection if i can not see it?
i have restarted the server several times, including in safe mode. the
"network connections" services are started.

Thanks is advance for your help

Simon

Hi,

You can try the netsh command line:

Start with: netsh interface ip show address

That'll list the interfaces and the IP Addresses assigned to the interfaces.
Note the name of the interface with the address that you want to remove,
then enter the command:
netsh interface ip delete address "Local area connection" addr=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Obviously, substitute into the command, the corrent name for the interface,
and the 'offending' IP Address, instead of xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.

Hope that helps.
Dan

Hello,

Thank you for your post.

There are several issues which might cause similar issues. To narrow down
the issue, please help answer the following questions first:
1. After the issue occurs, could you access the internet from your server?
2. What error message did you get if you used netsh command to modify IP
address?
3. If you open Device Manager and expand 'Network Adaptors', is the device
shown correctly?
To open Device Manager, do as follows:
1) Click Start
2) Click Run
3) Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.

Meanwhile, please also try the following steps to fix the issue.

1. Please follow the below KB article to trouble shooting missing network
connections icons issue.

How to troubleshoot missing network connections icons in Windows Server
2003 and in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/825826/en-us

2. To ensure this issue is not caused by the device driver, please update
the network adaptor's driver to the latest one and check whether this will
make any difference.
3. To ensure there is no hardware problem on your network adaptor device,
please replace this device with other network devices and have another test.

Please let me know when you finish the test. Thanks.
