Best way to place wifi antenna 10m away from computer?

I get free wireless Internet from my school, but the only place in my
apartment where I can get a signal is 10 meters of cable distance away
from the only place I can put my computer desk.

What are the cheapest or best solutions to this problem?

Why not first contact whomever is responsible for the wireless network
at your school and advise them about your situation?

USB Wi-Fi adapter with 5 meter cable, extended with an active USB
extension cable, for a total cable length of 10 meters. The Hawking
dish adapter can help to improve signal and performance.

I live just off campus, so it's "not their problem."
