Best value wired router?

Well it looks like my Linksys RV042 router is toast. Bless the
vagueness of lightning, I guess. It keeps wanting to upgrade firmware,
but when that completes, and the router is reset, it goes to the
upgrade firmware page again! Ouch...

So I'm looking for the best router/firewall similar to the RV042 but
perhaps I don't need VPN.

I'm a 'professional' and want a unit that I can configure and work
with. The Linksys was good in that respect. What I'm using now (a
Blitzz wireless) isn't and that makes it difficult to configure the
unusual stuff I do have.

Any suggestions? (I'm seriously considering another RV042 unit, it did
work well until Sunday's excitement.)
