Plusnet self install (buy your own router) for £21.99pm, or £18.99 if you don't want
binary newsgroups.

For Binary newsgroups consider either:

1. clara.net
2. any other good ADSL ISP with a 3rd party news server.

I've found eclipse's to be rubbish, but the rest of their service is
excellent. You might be better off getting something like eclipse or plusnet
and adding claranews to it.

My year's subs to Clara is nearly up so I'm getting curious about
alternatives. I've no complaints about their service except for one
issue. I'm wondering if there is a better UK ISP for binary groups and
twice now I've emailed (E-Mail Removed) asking how long is their
retention of binary newsgroup files. Although they clearly and
publicly offer a binary service they ignored these two messages, yet
have provided me with good advice on other questions.
Can anyone answer this retention question or advise on why they're
being so cagey please?

HELLO CLARA!!!

i migrated to eclipse from demon - demon's news servers were reasonably
ok but i've always carried a premium newsfeed anyway. eclipse+giganews
is the best isp & news server combination i've come across to date.
