My exchange was upgraded on 20 April, but my connection date wasn't
until 28 April. I was passing the exchange this afternoon, and noticed a
BT van. Out of curiosity, I knocked on the door and had a chat with the
guy doing the wiring, I was on his list but not until next week.

As I left, I decided to say thanks by offering him a drink. I only had
£3 in my pocket, and at first he refused saying "I can't do anything to
speed it up". I insisted, saying it was kind of him to give me the info.

An hour later, the phone rang: "I've connected you up, but you will need
to sort out the account". Put in username and password and ... BINGO!
