Hi

got a simple setup 2 xp pro machines, ntl cable coming into 1 machine via
usb, crossover cable between both machines, so they can talk to eachother
and copy files etc.. , zone alarm pro on both machines

is there any particular bit of internet connection sharing software thats
better than others or you'd recommend? , only really after www and nntp
sharing, i could use the ics built into xp, but i'm sure there might be
better solutions!

thanks!

Chris

For the quick solution that ICS gives, I'd have to say it works very
well.

I use it very frequently (probably every day) against a desktop and
laptop - where the laptop even uses VPN so I can get into the IBM
network.

Works a treat.

I had used to share an internet connection (before I bought an ISDN router)
using a bit of (then) freeware called "Spoon Proxy". This worked perfectly
well - and at the time - was free for use with two machines, but had to be
paid for if you wanted to use it with larger networks.

Google suggests a more recent version is now available for 20 dollars. If
you're interested, do a Google search on "Spoon Proxy" (complete with quotes
in the search field).

It's simple to use and works fine. No need to complicate things!
