Dear,
I bought this Belkin wireless for quite some time already, with MAC
filtering enable. I thought I was safe from unauthorized access. However
there was one time I checked the DHCP log and found that a MAC address other
than our member were communicating with my Belkin. I quickly enter the MAC
address to my Block list. After few days I found another suspecious MAC
address again. I guess my Belkin can only block those MAC that mentioned in
the block MAC address list. Other wireless devices that their MAC address
not mentioned in my MAC filtering list will still able to get in. If this
is true, I will be busy checking my DHCP history and block those suspecious
MAC.
Further, I disabled the SSID broadbast in my Belkin, But still able to
scan the SSID! Friend of mine vist my house with a wireless laptop can
easiely scan a wireless SSID and get in to it.
Due to the both of the security problem and I have decided to give up. I
bought a Linksys that no only solved my problem and give me greater signal
coverage. I am happy with it now. But now I wish to find if it is true that
there are these problem in this model? Is there any firmware that solve the
problem?
thanks
