Yes you will have to remove the PCI card.
Prior to starting again uninstall the s/ware for the wireless card you have
already
loaded.
With no Wireless card in PC reload the card's s/ware.
Now install your wireless card.
Your PC should now recognise your new h/ware.
Your manual should tell you how to verify its installation.
You should have an icon in the sys tray for the card ,double click on it and
you
should have the configuration utility.
Input your "SSID"."Encryption"."Mode"etc here.
(May be best to try without encryption first)
