Having installed a Belkin Wireless Network card on a 98 PC, I can't get the
software to open despite uninstalling and re-installing it. I get a message
that imgwiew2.exe is need to read cpl files.

The instructions say:

Warning. Install the software before inserting the card. You've guessed it
(why I'm a bloke aren't I?)

Is this my proble? (i.e. the card b4 the software, not being a bloke). Will
I have to open the box and remove the card et etc ?

Yes you will have to remove the PCI card.
Prior to starting again uninstall the s/ware for the wireless card you have
already
loaded.
With no Wireless card in PC reload the card's s/ware.
Now install your wireless card.
Your PC should now recognise your new h/ware.
Your manual should tell you how to verify its installation.
You should have an icon in the sys tray for the card ,double click on it and
you
should have the configuration utility.
Input your "SSID"."Encryption"."Mode"etc here.
(May be best to try without encryption first)
