I have a Wireless PCI network card (Belkin F5D7000 802.11g) which I
have plugged into a Gigabyte motherboard (pretty old one - GA686-LX_
with a PII processor. I only have a PCI graphics card in addition to
the Belkin card in the machine. The issue is that the PC refuses to do
anything when I switch it on. The hard drive spins up and the machine
appears to be "on" but nothing else happens. Nothing appears on the
monitor - there doesn't seem to be any video signal. If I take the
Belkin card out the machine works correctly. I've tried the card in
more than one PCI slot but with the same result. Have I got a duff
card or could there be some incompatibility between it and this old
motherboard?
