Belkin router wireless connection

Hi all, justa quick note regarding my belkin router, is it common for the
wireless connection on my note book to have a delay sometimes when
connecting or I get a message after a while that the connection has limited
of no connectivity, I then have to do a repair for the connection to
connect.If ive missed out on any info please just ask!

Thanks Conor, what could be the cause of it then? Perhaps a setting?

The delay may be because your system is having to retry several times
to get its settings from a DHCP server. "Limited or no connectivity"
usually means that it has given up trying. "Repair" initiates a
repeat attempt of same.

Sounds like a low signal strength or interference problem.

I had this problem with a Toshiba tablet connecting to a Belkin WAP. The
solution in the end, was to install SP2 on the tablet, and was actually
nothing to do with the WAP.

Wireless cards in laptops can cause a significant drain on the battery
and in order to reduce this some cards have a power save function.If
this is enabled then when in "sleep" mode there will be a delay when
initially connecting ,also you may find that if there has been no
traffic between your laptop and the network for a period of time the
card will then go into "sleep" mode giving limited connectivity.Suggest
you check your cards config to see if it has a power save option.

Thanks all i , will try that! Also i mentioned in a earlier post which i
cannnot see as i posted it wrong, here is it!!

Thanks all, signal strength is max, it only happens 1 out of 5 power up's on
the notebook, would it have anything to do with the security settings,
currently using 128bit WEP? I have also noticed that the time is on hour
behind and the date shows as the 0, April 2005, the ''enable daylight
savings'' is un-tickable?

Same here.

Completely unrelated but if you ever have problems accessing Hotmail,
set the MTU setting to 1400.
