Belkin router and Xterasys PCMCIA card

I just installed the subject PCMCIA card on my notebook. I get a WLAn
connection to my router. The wireless card appears to function and
shows all data connections to the router, but it doesn't work. I can't
connect to the internet. I have Optimum online and a Motorola modem.
The wired ports of the Belkin router work fine. Any ideas.

Just a followup. I got it to work by reinstalling. Then I turned the
notebook off. When restarted, it again did not see the network. There
is a network bridge involved that doesn't always show up. Can anyone
enlighten me on the function of the network bridge.
