belkin router/adapter

Hello,

I have a dsl connection and a belkin 802.11b wireless router with built-in
4-port switch (F5D6231-4). I want to purchase USB wireless adapters for my
other PCs and laptops. My question is that does it matter if the adapters
are made by other manufacturers than belkin. I am considering GigaFast
11Mbps 2.4GHz Wireless USB adapter (WF741-UIC). What other things should I
look for in the adapter?

Also, do I need to buy any additional piece of hardware to have a home
network (share files, resources among the computers)?

I also have a Belkin Router and USB adapter.
I use them for my internet and lan.

I use win xp pro with Client for MS networks and printer and file
sharing.

All works fine.
As long as you have the proper MS services running there is no
problem.

I even have turned on and oof the firewalls with the individual
machines to test the Belkin firewall.
To see the other machines on the network, the individual firewalls
need to be down. At least I can't see anything outside each machine
with them up.
