On my 2 computer "network", my 'main' computer can see the 2nd computer-
even play music files from its hard disk. But can the 2nd computer see the
main computer? No.

I'm using a Belkin 54g router (7230) and there is a Belkin PCI wireless
adapter in the 2nd computer.

I don't think it is the MAC, IP or WEP thats causing the problem. It might
be the firewall software that is on my main - but not sure.

Any ideas?

R

Yep, more than likely. Try disabling it, when disconnected from the
internet, then retry.
It might help if you told us what the firewall on the main computer
is.

Reinvigorated by your support, I did shut down (McAfee) firewall on the
network bridge - and hey presto - it worked. Thanks

Now to get the second Computer to access the internet via 'main' computer's
internal (dial-up) ISDN modem - I have followed Microsoft's procedure for
setting up ICS but no joy - any ideas?

Cheers

There you go, easy when you know how! Somewhere in the firewall
settings, (I don't know the McAfee firewall), there should be
somewhere where you enter trusted ip addresses. Stick the ip address
of the other machine in there and it should work with the firewall
enabled.

That's where I struggle, I don't do ICS, but I do know it's a bit
intermittent\random in its working, I always use a router. Someone on
here will be of more help than me with ICS luckily!

Lurch, Something I failed to point out is I am using a Belkin wireless
router which is plugged into the back of the main computer's ethernet
connection. It is linking up to the wireless PCI card in the back of the 2nd
computer. Have I been going wrong by trying to implement ICS while using a
router?

Thanks

Only if the router is providing the internet connection, but you say
the main PC is providing an internal internet connection.
