Belkin AP settings change...

I have two Belkin F5D6130. The settings were set a few days ago and
my wireless nodes found the AP fine. Now I've gone back to check the
AP config and almost every settings is different. Even after I
reenter my settings, it reverts back to the wrong settings. The weird
thing is that my wireless nodes still recognize the AP even with the
wrong settings. Do I have to upgrade the firmware? How often does
upgrading firmware need to be done? The Associated Stations value is
2346. Surely that doesn't mean that 2346 wireless nodes are connected
to the AP, does it?

Don't E-mail me. Please reply to newsgroup with your comments.
THANKS...

The RTS threshold is what should be 2346. Latest firmware is 1.4g8, which is
about a year old. None of these things should affect your connection, except
encryption. Have you changed the password to be sure no one is tweaking it for
you? I assume you have given them different AP and SSID names.

Almost all of the settings that you're asking about above changed from
the original settings that I set (except for the firmware version
1.4g8 and my admin password). The RTS Threshhold was 2346, now it's
0. I set a 128-bit encryption but it now displays a 64-bit encrpytion
with a different default key ID. The AP and SSID names that I set
have been changed to numbers. What could be changing these settings?
Does anyone know if there's a glitch in the firmware?

Have you asked Belkin? Could be a defective WAP-I use the same firmware with no
problem. Try changing your admin password to make sure it hasn't been
compromised by some wardriver.
