A couple of issues relating to the belkin f5d7330 wireless bridge.
Having just changed (at last!) from wep to wpa, I've upgraded the
firmware of a 7330 (now at 1.00.09) in the hope of getting wpa support
in it. It shows signs of wanting to work, at least, I get
wpa-appropriate dialogues - but it just hangs after entering the (rather
long) wpa key. Or at least, the http server in it hangs - it still
pings; and also it doesn't seem visible over the wireless lan - I still
have it plugged in.
Meanwhile, I've just seen a broadcast from this device, port rimsl
(2044), whatever that is. The net seems for once uninformative. The
problem is that this broadcast packet, captured with wireshark, contains
in plain text both the admin password for the 7330, and also the key for
the wpa encryption. This surely is bad news!
Oh, and at some point while messing with this, the access point (also
belkin) screwed up and needed restarting. I doubt this is a coincidence.
Has anyone a magic word for making this device work with wpa please -
and can anyone shed light on the 'rimsl' and passwords issue?
