I have just purchased the 54g Wireless Access Point F5D7130 and am having a
few problems.

When I open the web based user interface it reports that the hardware is
F5D7230-4 which is the code for the Belkin Wireless DSL Router

I am unable to save current settings. It opens a text file in notepad. Is
this the settings file?

When I check for an update it reports none available but when I check on the
support site it shows an update with a higher version number than mine.

Has anyone had the same problems?

Best wishes

Andy Pollard

Well I never! I didn't notice before, but mine's the same. 7130 printed on
the label underneath the unit, but 7230-4 in the setup page. Maybe it's a
generic setup program for the whole range of products.

"Save Settings" means make a backup of your settings as a text file, which is
why it opens Notepad so you can save the file however you want, so this is
behaving normally. You might want to have this information as a text file in
case you have to perform a factory reset on the unit itself.

Saving settings in the memory of the unit itself, which is probably what you
have in mind, is done by clicking the "Apply Changes" button. If the unit
recovers with the same settings after being powered off and then on again,
this must be working normally too.

Rod.
