Hmmm (again), what equipment have you got Bobby? Mine hasn't dropped
once since I removed security altogether. Introduce WPA and freezing occurs within minutes. I have 3 other PCs on the network (wired) and haven't been able to trap it down to activity on these. They can be idle infact when this AP freezes. No security here either. I lose the line so often I can't risk security!
I'm using a Belkin modem/router and Belkin desktop/laptop cards. All 54g. Everything fine if only one PC/laptop working but bug problems when 2 or 3 machines using the network at the same time. I'm not using Windows networking (only Belkin's own drivers) and I tempted to use the wireless networking in SP2 to see if this helps. Ahhh I see...
I wonder if SP2 will help my security problem. My uptime is now 3 days so I'm pretty certain there is nothing wrong hardware wise. I am using the belkin access point plugged into my vigor2600 plus router. Does your router/access point have the latest firmware installed? On a bad night, my uptime is about 3 minutes with more than one PC
connected. I have the latest firmware. I think I'll give Windows XP SP2 wireless networking a go... Damn, you'll have to let me know how that goes. I'm not holding out
much hope for it helping with my WPA problem....
