Dear All,

I am running Windows XP Pro on a Toshiba Satellite 5200, I have
purchased a Belkin 54g pcmcia card (F5D7010) to use instead of the interal
wireless Atheros AR5001X card due to problems with it (Internal wirless is
switched off).

The problem I have noticed is that the Belkin 54g card doesn't work
until I login, for example I can not ping my computer if I stay on the logon
scrren but once I login I can then ping my notebook and connect to it. At
first I thought it was a charateristic of Wireless but I decided to enable
the internal wireless card and reboot, when the machine displayed the logon
screen I could ping it and connect to it remotely (Remote Desktop
Connection) but not with the Belkin card.

Any ideas?

Mark

I would also like to add that the Power Light is on when I reach the Logon
screen.

Also if I logon on then logout the card functions okay, i.e. I can ping the
notebook and Remotely connect to it afterwards.

Puzzled I am, I know it maybe something to do with services starting but as
far as I can tell it looks identical to the internal card (Start Up as
manual).

same problem over here,
Windows 2000, and a PCI 54g card from Belkin. (regular pc)
problem is i want to login to a domain, which won't work whithout the card,
and the card won't work until i login
only solution until now is to login locally, logoff , and then login to
the domain.

I have done this:

installed (freeware) version of FireDaemon
made a service which lauches %windir%\bcwltry.exe at boottime
and problem is solved.
pc is now even reachable without being logged on, which is exactly what
i want.
