Hi just wondering if anyone could help me, i recently purchased a belkin 125
mbps router with a 125mbps belkin card. the router is not connected to any of
my computers as they are located in rooms where there are no phone line
installed thats why i decided to use wireless. I also bought a another
wireless usb adapter for another computer. here is the problem, when both
computers are switched on and connected the internet works fine. but when the
computer with the usb adapter is swicthed off the computer with the belkin
card installed seems not to function properly at all. It says its connected
at 125mbps but is very slow and sometimes it just doesnt work!! but when all
computers are switched on the belkin card connects at around 54mbps and works
the way it should!! Why is this happening??? Thanks

You should make sure you have the latest drivers and firmware from the
manufacturer.

Also, you can try different channels or wireless modes to see if it only
happens with speeds greater than standard "g" - 54mbps or with specific
channels. Routers generally have various compatibility modes - high-speed
only, high-speed + g, g-only, g+b, etc.

Sounds like your router drops back to 54 when a standard G device connects
and that it's only the boosted speed that has the problem.

Hi

You might have configuration problems, and or distance issues (i.e. it is too
far/obstructed for max. “Speed”).

You should start with putting temporarily two computers near the Router, one connected
with a Wire, and one with the 125 Belkin card. You do the Router

May be this can Help.
