OK, sorry if this is a stupid question. I have done some reading since my
last post, and now need to check my understanding.

Starting point is 2 desktop PCs, a laptop (and an iMac, but I'll come to
that).

If I buy a wireless ADSL modem/router/access point and wireless cards for
each PC, will that let me set up a network first, continuing to use my
dial-up ISP account, and then when I'm ready, set up a broadband
connection/account?

Also, can an iMac be brought into such a network?

Cheers

Yes. Just set up a bog standard network as per the various tutorials
on the web. The router will just act as a 'hub' until the ADSL is
enabled.

Yes, not sure exactly how but I know they can be linked into a windows
network.
