Been Over a month Now!

I was told when I posted this it would clear up on own but
so far zip.

Basicalluy my Host box on a home network is
Win 98SE.

I lost a HD on a client box and decided to try WinXP on it.

I set it up with the XP fireall which required using
another protocol for the network (not tcp/ip

When I tried to get the network set up on the 98 box XP
would not recognize xxxxx d as the computer name.
No space so I changed the name to XXXX-d and it works
fine, ICS sharing full network between the host and the
client. My other client can find XP but XP doesn't find
it but that is another problem.

Anyway on the 98SE box I now have both xxxx d and xxxx-d
showing in network neighborhood. if I click on xxxx d it
says can't find the computer is not connected .

My other client box in 98SE also shows the same. Win xp
only shows the xxxx-d.

I can find no way to delete the xxxx d listing. won't
delete, wont show in reg edit.

Just an irritant but would like to find an answer.
