As I can't find a newsgroup for I Player has anyone had experience in using
it?
I am finding the programmes very irregular.. For instance I watch Newsnight
usually the day after but after appearing for week there are missing days
the following week

I've only ever used it for Top Gear, Dragon's Den, and The Apprentice (just
the episode with the supercars that my young boy'd like to see). All seemed
to work ok. Whether I'll ever get round to watching them is another matter.

It constantly accesses the internet for some reason and like you I found
it had strange effects on the speed of some applications. Plus the
picture quality is pretty dire.

I've gone back to the good old VHS. And it doesn't delete itself after
30 days :-)
