I only have one telephone socket in the house which is downstairs......

But the PC is upstairs - on dial-up this was not a problem however the USB
Binatone adsl modem says there is no signal and I theefore still have no BB
connection .. ((

Any ideas/suggestions welcome

Thanks

Have you got micro-filters in all the right places? It's easier to make
a mistake with extension leads and stuff

Thanks for the prompt reply

Have tested with location of filters too

Problem apparently relates to modem "not synching"

The power light is no problem but the line light just flashes now and
again....((

If you move the computer to the master socket you can test the modem
without the signal going through the extension. If it works you should
try and check the wiring, if it doesn't you'll need to look elsewhere.

Has your ADSL been enabled yet? -- Sorry if that's insulting but I obviously
don't know how much you know about this kind of thing.

Also, try plugging a normal phone into the computer end of the extension and
listen for any noise. Extensions can often be a bit noisy which will no
doubt cock-up the whole adsl affair.

Finally, try unplugging ALL devices attached to the line and simply plug in
the adsl modem (via extension) without the filter. It *might* just be that
the filter is knackered.

I hope you get it sorted.
