Upon installing wireless G to a desktop and laptop, where
should the base station BNU be? I can open the BNU on my
laptop, but I can not access my desktop
(EthernetConnection) BNU.

Some of us actually don't use the BNU at all. Just IE to
http://192.168.2.1

The major benefit of the BNU is the auto-upgrades.

You can have the BNU in both computers (so both network
devices are automatically upgraded). The base station is
a standalone small computer by itself. Placing the BNU on
one or another computer does not assign a special meaning
to that computer -- it's just an handy way to access the
router and the network, and having automatic upgrades
installed for the router and network devices.
